As some of you may know, I am currently studying mass communication and broadcast/journalism at Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls, TX. I absolutely love my major and really believe in my ability to do well in that focus and also this new blog of mine. I love to write. I love words and quotes, and how words, when in the right context, can inspire, make connections, and bring people together. As mentioned in my last blog we never go out of style, personal style differentiates us from one another. However, while style sets us apart, I know that it’s also so powerfully inspiring and has been bringing people together for centuries.

Working in retail the past 3 years has not only shaped my style, but has taught me so much about the fashion industry from several points of view. I’ve had many opportunities come from my time at Sewn Clothing Gallery, and before that, Grass Stains Boutique from my hometown. This has included being apart of selecting new merchandise for upcoming seasons and modeling for look-books, runway, billboard, websites and Instagram. I could not be more grateful for those opportunities and I’m hoping that with the growth of my own blog, the start of my own branding, I will only be opening new doors!

With As Always, Ara I couldn’t be more excited to combine my two passions and finally take the leap I’ve been considering for so long, becoming the blogger I’ve wanted to be. I’m so thankful for the people who saw this potential in me before I did, and for giving me their upmost support as I’ve been taking the initiative to get started.

“Watch with glistening eyes” – Roald Dahl

I love the amazing color scheme and outward thinking in this mural by Wichita Falls local, Ralph Stearns. I chose to feature it for my first look because eyes are the window to the soul and what I see when I look at these eyes is a girl full of ideas, who’s driven and passionate in her art. I assembled this light, corduroy jacket with this white cotton romper because the bright mint color added another hue in the rainbow running just behind the eyes, as well as the rainbow palm print in the romper. With rolled sleeves and the ruched detailing in the back, this jacket has a personality all its own. Truth – I adore jackets. Mine take up half my closet but I can’t stop collecting them. They make for such easy seasonal transition pieces. Also, if you know me you know that I am always cold so, I usually carry one.

I’ll be putting this re:named strappy romper in rotation the rest of summer! The cotton piece is so breezy, it makes for a great choice when planning to be outdoors. My favorite color happens to be red so I pulled that color out of the palm as well by pairing one of my favorite pairs of Kendra Scott red earrings and choosing a warm, red-toned eyeshadow and lipstick. Nude shoes always for the win, and these ankle-strap wedged sandals completed this look.

As Always,
